National Geographic Society Connecting Bridge - Washington, DC

This project included a connecting bridge that allows direct walk-thru between 3 separate buildings. The structure for the walkway required lightweight framing to minimize reinforcing work below the roof slab and also to limit disturbance to spaces below. Part of the work required cutting into the masonry bearing wall of the adjacent building and designing a support system for this opening.
