BAE Stair - Arlington, VA

This project started with the vision of a monumental floating stair for the main entrance of the tenant's space. The stair was designed to hang from two floors above the lower level and appears to float between the upper and lower levels. Structural steel tube framing was used as the structure of the stair. The stair was extended to a third floor in the second phase of this project, because the stair is located very close to the exterior facade, we designed structural alterations to the facade support steel to allow the placement of the stair without compromising the facade.
