1825 and 1875 Eye Street Tenant Renovation - Washington, DC
This project involved the engineering design and construction administration services for a class A interior renovation of over 400,000 SF of office space in an existing cast-in place high-rise structure. The alterations included a new internal monumental stair tower rising from the 3rd to the 12th floor and modification of the roof structure to remove several columns for an uninterrupted auditorium space. Over this auditorium a new clear span roof structure including an articulated skylight was constructed. Additional alterations were done to install a full-service cafeteria on existing office floors and to strengthen existing slab bays in 15 areas for high density filing systems. Slab strengthening was performed with steel beams and/or high strength carbon fiber reinforced sheets.
